Our Mission
At Building Bridges Foundation (BBF), our mission is to be a trusted, trauma-informed resource for survivors of domestic, intimate partner, and community violence. Established in 2008 and rooted in lived experience, BBF provides holistic, wraparound support that meets individuals where they are—emotionally, physically, and geographically. We offer crisis intervention, lethality assessments, emergency housing coordination, individual and group counseling, court advocacy, and warm referrals to medical, behavioral health, and employment resources. Every service is delivered with cultural humility, clinical integrity, and survivor-led intention.
BBF also equips organizations, government agencies, and systems with the tools to become more trauma-responsive through technical assistance, training, and capacity building. As a nationally recognized nonprofit and consulting partner to SAMHSA, NASMHPD, and city-level initiatives such as Washington, DC’s Mayor’s Office of Victim Services, we’ve contributed to violence prevention and trauma recovery at the bedside, in the courtroom, and within policy reform efforts.
Our multidisciplinary team includes licensed clinicians, certified social workers, experienced crisis responders, and community navigators—all working together to improve outcomes, reduce harm, and restore dignity.
Whether you are a funder, survivor, policymaker, or provider—BBF is committed to advancing accessible, evidence-informed, and healing-centered support that drives real impact across communities.
